Finnish sauna with wooden benches on several levels, in warm red light

Dry heat, wood and complete calm.

The Finnish sauna is a classic dry sauna: the air is hot and the humidity low, so the body warms up quickly and sweats freely. The wooden benches are arranged on several levels – the higher the bench, the hotter it is, so beginners should sit lower down.

After the sauna comes a refreshing shower and a rest on the heated benches. Between two sauna rounds, stop by the scrub room – the heat of the sauna enhances the effect of the scrub.

The Finnish sauna is part of the wellness area, which is used with a water park ticket.

Tips

How to use the sauna

  1. Shower first

Before you first go in, take a shower and dry yourself well – dry skin warms up faster and sweats more easily.

  2. Warm up

Sit or lie on a towel and stay for eight to fifteen minutes – or less, as soon as it becomes uncomfortable. Heat is not something to endure.

  3. Cool down

Breathe in some fresh air, then cool down gradually under the cooling shower, from your feet towards your heart.

  4. Rest

Rest for at least as long as you were in the sauna, and drink water or tea. Two to three rounds are quite enough.

Do not use the sauna straight after a heavy meal or with alcohol. If you have health problems – especially with your heart or blood pressure – or are pregnant, consult your doctor before using the sauna.
