Thermal mineral water

The living water of Krapinske Toplice

The springs of hyperthermal mineral water are nature’s gift to Krapinske Toplice. At the source the water is 41 °C, and it fills every pool in the water park.

Aquae Vivae

Why “living water”

When the ancient Romans passing through this region saw warm, crystal-clear, drinkable water springing from the ground, they called it aquae vivae – living water. Today that water lives on in our water park: it touches every visitor and passes on its warmth and energy, while its pH of 7.3 to 7.7 brings body and water into harmony.

Water in distinguished company

The first chemical analyses of the water in Krapinske Toplice, and comparisons with the thermal mineral waters of Europe, were made in 1858. It was compared with the waters of famous European spas:

  • Bad Gastein (Austria)
  • Bains-les-Bains (France)
  • Johannisbad (Czech Republic)
  • Bad Liebenzell (Germany)
  • Bad Ragaz, then Pfäfers (Switzerland)
  • Schlangenbad (Germany)
  • Warmbrunn (Poland)
  • Wildbad (Germany)

The water of Krapinske Toplice, already known for its quality, held its own in that company. It proved especially beneficial for rheumatic complaints, spinal conditions, neuromuscular complaints, diabetes with joint complications, and conditions before and after orthopaedic, surgical and neurosurgical procedures on the musculoskeletal system, as well as for heart disease and diseases of the peripheral blood vessels.

Above all, the water is the best way to keep healthy and full of vitality.

Wishing to enrich what Krapinske Toplice already had to offer, we built the Aquae Vivae water park and brought the living water closer to every visitor.

Under constant monitoring

The thermal mineral water is under constant monitoring of its physico-chemical parameters and microbiological safety, carried out by the water safety and water supply department of the Croatian Institute of Public Health.

The heat of the thermal water also heats the whole water park. How it works

See you in the warm water
